Think Green Business of the Year.
On Thursday 13th November we clinched the title of ‘Think Green Business of the Year’ in The Press Business Awards 2008.
Sponsored by Drax Power Ltd our category received the highest number of entrants leaving judges the tough task of narrowing it down to three finalists, ourselves, Green-Tech, a landscape garden equipment supplier and EnviroVent Ltd, a ventilation equipment manufacturer.
The judges praised our efforts in reducing waste and the number of different environmental initiatives we have implemented. They were particularly impressed how we encourage customers to use recycled products and FSC accredited papers building strong relationships with recycled material suppliers and users.
The prestigious award evening was held at York Racecourse and attended by nearly 300 business professionals from North and East Yorkshire including, of course, a party from Platinum. As finalists for the second year running, loud cheers of delight could be heard from table 18 as the result was announced. Andy Hudson and Barry Cooper took to the stage and were presented with the award from Drax Power’s Peter Emery and BBC presenter Colin Hazelden, returning to share a celebratory bottle of bubbly with everyone on the table.
Andy commented “we knew we had worked hard, but still had our fingers crossed and were absolutely delighted when our name was announced, it was certainly a very enjoyable evening”
David Wyvill said “it was a terrific evening and a great honour to receive recognition this year for all the work that everyone at the company has put in, building superbly on the previous years nomination”
