Platinum investment leads the way with new Fuji Proofing

Posted by:

Once again Platinum have stamped their intent on the market by introducing Fuji remote proofing to its customers. This new software allows clients to upload artwork directly into the pre-press workflow, with automatic pre-flight, live annotation and many advanced approval features.

Platinum’s Production Director Mark Plummer stated: “We are very excited to launch this new system which opens up a vast array of possibilities for Platinum and its clients, once again endorsing our commitment to ground-breaking advances in the printing industry.

Managing Director David Wyvill also commented: “We have already rolled the new system out to a number of clients and received extremely positive feedback in terms of the speed improvement and flexibility it now gives. It shows our commitment to advances in technology and ties in neatly with the web2print system which we already operate.

This new investment is the just the latest in a series of developments for the company which has seen,  this year alone, a spend of over £250k on the purchase of a new digital press – the Ricoh C901 – a Grutzmacher mail processor and the employment of three new members of staff.

Our aim is to keep one step ahead of the competition and offer our customers a reliable, speedy and accurate turnaround on their projects – this latest set of investments allows us to do just that” added David.

Then there were two…

A few months ago it was suggested that some of the Platinum staff and family/friends were to take on the 3 peaks challenge. The date was set for Saturday 7th May, but in the meantime Mark Ackroyd, Matt Coop, Simon Collins and Baz Cooper decided to try a sub 8 hours on April 23rd with great success. Continue Reading →

Platinum’s David and Marina Run with Andy McMenemy

Posted by:

Friday 29th April, whilst enjoying the additional bank holiday, many in front of the T.V. David and Marina were on the road to Sefton Park in Liverpool. Andy McMenemy was on run 45 of 66 Ultra marathons. 66 ultra marathons in 66 consecutive days in Britain’s 66 cities. Marina and David arrived when Andy was at mile 21; we quickly changed into our running gear and had the great honour to run with Andy for the final 10 miles of that run. After 10 miles we were shattered, we couldn’t imagine Andy had completed 1400 Miles, 2250 Kilometres!! – We left him at the end of this particular race; he was heading to Manchester for run 46 only 21 to go.

Please take a look at http://www.challenge66.org/ and get your running shoes on, he’ll love your support.

Belzona Vs Platinum

by Sports Reporter, ‘Flinty’!

The 26th August 2010, there was something in the air that night. Harrogate football held its breath as two of its business heavyweights took to the field of play at Claro Road. First out were the Belzona Blues, led by talisman skipper, Richard Edwards who had his troops simply chomping at the bit. An understated Platinum side emerged in dribs and drabs, relaxed, smiling and definitely a reflection of captain Scott Waddington. Continue Reading →
