Fujifilm has nearly reached its 12-month fundraising target for the international clean water charity WaterAid after just six months of the appeal.
Fujifilm has pledged a percentage of the EMEA sales of every square metre of its Brillia HD Pro-T3 plate to the charity with the aim of raising €30,000 by March 2013.
In its July-September quarter, Fujifilm raised more than €16,000, taking its total for the first six months to €26,757, just over €3,000 shy of its 12-month target.
Yasufumi Morimoto, senior vice president of Fujifilm Europe, said: “Back in May we set €30,000 as our 12 month target, so the fact that we’ve raised over €26,000 in half a year is an overwhelmingly positive result.
“Fujifilm is highly committed to the environment and we are very pleased to be able to support WaterAid with the donations from our Pro-T3 sales.”
It certainly looks like the world of digital print is ready to take another huge step forward in technological development once again. The past fifty years have seen the switch from letterpress to the revolutionary litho process, we then had the introduction of black and white photocopiers and duplicators.
In its latest study, the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) found that response rates for physical direct mail campaigns are much higher than those posted by email versions.
Researchers conducting the association’s ’2012 Response Rate Report’ discovered that direct mail responses average 3.4 per cent - some way above the 0.12 currently being achieved by email.
The Harrogate Hospitality Awards took place on Monday night (11th June) during a gala dinner at the Harrogate International Centre’s Royal Hall and once again Platinum sponsored the award for ‘Team of the Year’.
Platinum’s Mark Plummer duly presented the award on stage to deserved winners ‘The Majestic Hotel Team’. The first time he had presented such an award on the company’s behalf and in front of a packed house duly left him a little nervous. After struggling to open the envelope a quick and loud prompt from Janet Street-Porter left him shaking in his boots, a torn winner’s slip finally in hand! and the winners could be announced.
The Royal Mail are changing the rules regarding their printed PPI on envelopes and items of mailing. Don’t worry, Platinum will be updating designs where necessary – but just to let you know why things are changing and the reasons behind these changes you can read about it on the their website. You will need to incorporate these design changes into your printing and mailing schedule over the next few months, but you must change over to the new PPI design by 2nd January 2013.
We are please to announce as part of our ongoing commitment to reduce our Environmental impact we have now purchased the Renault Kangoo Z.E. fully electric van we trialled, it arrives early September. (and we are very excited).
Our delivery trials reported positives about the little green machine – it did well with the heavier items and even had enough ‘poke’ to get around town with great efficiency. Barry Cooper, our finishing and despatch manager, had the following comments to make: “This ZE Model is ideal for local deliveries with a range of 100 miles, Battery powered you re-charge the van using a normal 3 pin plug. It takes around 7-8 hours to be fully charged, an emissions free vehicle with the added benefit of no road tax! we are pleased with how the trial went and when you think of the big savings on running costs it looks good on paper too”.
Roll on September and keep your eyes peeled for our new addition! You can find out more about the van and its features here: http://www.renault-ze.com/en-gb/z.e.-range/kangoo-z.e./kangoo-van-z.e.-1939.html
